Activities in Afissos...
The Pelion Peninsula is unrivalled
for exploring. It has some amazing beaches on the two coasts
of the Pagassitikos Bay and the Aegean Sea which are separated
by a narrow mountain chain.
The mountain villages, includes famous Milies, a historic
living museum where a narrow guage steam train runs to from
the coast some 1000 metres below.The villages are connected
by ancient cobble paths; walking along these you discover
ancient buildings, fresh water springs and incredible views
of the bay beneath you.
Back in Afissos, aside from
the sailing, there is also water skiing, wake boarding
and great snorkelling; there is also a beach park
with radio controlled sailboat racing, mountain bike
and car hire and all the facilities you would expect
from a tourist location.
